Government Financial Assistance and Subsidy
HKCT provides entrance scholarships to the new students with remarkable academic achievements so as to encourage them to keep up with their satisfactory performance. New students can apply for the following scholarship(s) according to the programme level.
Entrance Scholarship

To offer scholarship to students with excellence academic achievements and excellence record in community services and/or extracurricular activities or participation

Minimum criteria
HKDSE 21 points or above (Best 5 subjects, including English, Chinese and Liberal Studies)

Amount
A full-tuition fee waiver for the first year of study

Details

To offer scholarship to students with outstanding academic achievements and outstanding record in community services and/or extracurricular activities or participation

Minimum criteria
HKDSE 18 points or above (Best 5 subjects, including English, Chinese and Liberal Studies)

Amount
A half-tuition fee waiver for the first year of study

To reward students for good academic achievements

Minimum criteria
HKDSE 13 points or above (Best 5 subjects, including English, Chinese and Liberal Studies)

Amount
$10,000 for the first year of study

 (For 'Senior-Year Entry of ‘Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Sports Management with Coaching’ only

To offer scholarship to student with outstanding academic achievements in sports subject or athletes who have represented Hong Kong and achieved outstanding results in international games

Minimum criteria
HKDSE Level 4 or above in the Physical Education elective

To provide support for students who have financial difficulties to participate in exchange tours, visit and sharing so as to broaden their horizons and experience, and enhance their knowledge

Remarks
  1. Every new student can apply for ONE Entrance Scholarship only
  2. The applicants fulfilling all of the criteria in ‘details’ would be considered
  3. ‘HKCT Excellence Award’cannot be applied with ‘Entrance Scholarship’ and ‘Grants’ simultaneously
  4. Assessment of the applicants’ eligibility and the granting of Scholarships and Grants are subject to the final decision of the Institute’s Selection Panel. Applicants’ objection to the final result will not be accepted
Entrance Scholarship

To offer scholarship to students with excellent public examination results

Minimum criteria
HKDSE 12 points or above (Level 4 or above in a subject) in one of the recent 3 years

To reward students for excellent performance in open competitions

Minimum criteria
Champion, first runner-up or second runner-up of Talent from 2016 to 2018

Remarks

The CEF aims to subsidise adults with learning aspirations to pursue continuing education and training.

Applicants must be aged 18 or above when the CEF reimbursable course commenced and the application must be submitted within one year upon the successful completion of the course. Eligible applicants may submit claims for reimbursement of fees on the successful completion of CEF reimbursable courses up to a maximum sum of HK$25,000*.

*Applicable only for courses commencing on or after 1 August 2022. For the courses commencing before 1 August 2022, the maximum reimbursement amount is HK$20,000.

Students who cannot complete individual subjects satisfactorily are still eligible for reimbursement of the tuition fee for the other subjects which they have satisfactorily completed. A student can receive tuition fee reimbursement for a maximum of eight subjects under the DAE programme.

All eligible students will receive reimbursement of 30% of the tuition fee of each satisfactorily completed subject (i.e. attaining an overall “pass” and achieving an 80% attendance for the subject). Students passing the means test and obtaining an Eligibility Certificate can apply for "FULL" or "HALF" tuition fee reimbursement.

Tuition subsidy

  • Applicants with nil income or with monthly income of $12,500 or below, can apply for course fee waiver subject to attaining a minimum attendance rate of 80%
  • Applicants with monthly income between $12,501 and $20,000, can apply for payment of "Highly Subsidised Fee" subject to attaining a minimum attendance rate of 80%
  • Applicants with monthly income of $20,001 or above are required to pay the "Normal Subsidised Fee"
