The programme is awarded by University of Central Lancashire and focuses on developing professionals of estates related aspects so to support the core activities of an enterprise.

This programme is accredited by: 

  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible to apply for Membership of RICS; 
  • Chartered Institute of Building, UK (CIOB), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible to apply for Membership of CIOB; 
  • Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible to apply for Membership of CABE; 
  • the Hong Kong Institution of Incorporated Engineers (HKIIE), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible for applying for Membership of HKIIE; 
  • the Hong Kong Institute of Clerks of Works (HKICW), graduates will be granted certain extent of exemption to final part II apply for MHKICW; 
  • Hong Kong Institute of Certified Property Managers (HKCPM), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible for applying for Membership of HKCPM. 
课程介绍及特色

This programme covers a wide range of estates related aspects of sustainable business in order to support the core activities of an enterprise, including building and estates development, maintenance management and building services provision and control. The concept of sustainability has been incorporated in most of the modules in the restoration of our environment. Students have to complete five taught modules and a dissertation in four semesters, the minimum length of study is 15 months. 

Students have to complete 5 taught modules and a dissertation in 4 semesters, the standard minimum of study is 15 months. Each taught module consists of 36 face-to-face contact hours, including lectures and tutorials.

  • Facilities Management 
  • Project Analysis and Appraisal 

Semester Two 

  • Maintenance Management 
  • Health and Safety Management OR Sustainability and Building Conservation 
  • Dissertation (Part I) 

Semester Three 

  • Construction Law 
  • Dissertation (Part II) 

Semester Four 

  • Dissertation (Part III) (supported by two supplementary modules including "Communication & Research Methods" and "Information Technology Skills")

Assessment Coursework (50%) and Examination (50%) or Coursework (100%) 

Dissertation Interim Report, Presentation and Final Report (100%)

  • Applicants should be holders of Higher Diploma in Building Technology awarded by HKCT with relevant industrial experience; or
  • Applicants should be holders of Higher Diploma/ Associate Degree/ Higher Certificate in Building Studies/ Facilities Management/ Estate Management/ Surveying or related discipline from local recognized institutions, with relevant industrial experience.
  • The teaching media of the above mentioned post-secondary qualification should be in English or applicants should possess English proficiency level up to IELTS 6 or TOEFL 550 or a pass in HKCT English Test or equivalent.
  • Applicants who do not satisfy the above entry requirement may be admitted at the discretion of the University.

$72,000 (分4期缴交)

Administration Fee: HK$1,500 (Upon 1st instalment)

HKCT Alumni Fee Reduction

  • HKCT former student who has completed a one year programme or above is eligible.
  • 5% of total tuition fee reduction (max $1,000) will be made in the last instalment of tuition fee payment.
