Aircraft Materials Management Training Course (Course Code : ANC0010S)

Introduction
Aircraft Materials Management Training Course - HKCT

(只有英文版本)
The supply chain of the aviation industry — particularly the supply chain for spare parts that support aircraft maintenance and ensure continuing airworthiness — is far more complex than it may initially appear.

This 5‑day course is designed to provide a solid foundation for inventory and procurement professionals in the aviation industry by combining fundamental concepts, key processes, and the practical application of these concepts across the full spectrum of aviation material management. This includes material planning, sourcing, provisioning, provisioning models and analytical tools, repair management, stores and logistics management, strategic procurement, contract management, and warranty administration.

Local regulations related to component acceptance (e.g., AN 17), major industry documents and manuals, and relevant ATA Specifications that inventory and procurement practitioners encounter in their daily work will also be covered. To enable participants to effectively reinforce and apply what they have learned, the course incorporates individual and group exercises as well as case studies.

Programme Features

This 5‑day course is aimed at enabling participants to :

  • Enable candidates to build a solid foundation in material management, and to gain a clearer understanding of the complexity of the aviation supply chain and the interactions among various processes within the spares business
  • Familiarise candidates with major technical and non‑technical documents and ATA Specifications that are related to inventory management, such as AMM, CMM, IPC, MMEL / MEL, RSPL, ATA Spec 100, iSpec 2200 and Spec 2000, which they will routinely encounter in their daily work
  • Provide candidates with essential knowledge of airworthiness and quality standards, including spares acceptance requirements under the Hong Kong Air Navigation regulations (e.g. AN 17)
  • Give candidates a basic understanding of non‑airworthiness regulatory requirements relating to the shipment and storage of certain categories of spares, such as dangerous goods, compressed gas bottles, halons, and parts classified as strategic components under foreign regulations Provide candidates with a comprehensive understanding of the full range of material management functions, including sourcing, provisioning, repair management, logistics, contracting, warranty administration, and supplier performance management
  • Equip candidates with the skills to apply various provisioning models and analytical tools to determine spare parts requirements — both rotables and expendables — for entry‑into‑service (EIS) planning and subsequent review or replenishment activities
  • Familiarise candidates with alternative sourcing options for supporting normal aircraft operations and addressing spares shortages

This course is suitable for aviation materials management and procurement specialists who require a comprehensive understanding of the aircraft spares supply chain, component acceptance standards under HKCAD regulations, major inventory‑related technical and non‑technical manuals / documents, materials management functions, and provisioning models that support effective materials planning for both entry‑into‑service (EIS) and day‑to‑day operations.
Given the inherently complex nature of the aviation supply chain, the course is also beneficial for technical services and maintenance planning engineers, who can apply the knowledge and skills gained to enhance the quality of their operational and technical decision‑making.
