Professional Qualification

The part‐time programme is accredited by 

  • Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), graduates who fulfil the specified education with adequate working experience requirements are eligible to apply for student membership of CIOB and CABE; 
  • The Institute of Clerks of Works, UK (ICWCI) and The Institute of Clerks of Works, Hong Kong (HKICW), graduates who fulfil relevant working experience are eligible to apply for membership of ICWCI; and also 
  • Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM), graduates who fulfill specified education and professional development requirements are eligible to apply for Associate Membership of HKICM.

       

 

Contents
The course is divided into six semesters in a 2-year duration and students are required to take two to three modules in each semester. Students have to complete all six semesters and each module consists of 22-33 face-to-face contact hours with lecturers.

  • Articulation Pathway: Students who have completed this 2-year higher diploma programme can directly articulate to the BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management*(Reg No.: 251152) or BSc (Hons) Facilities Management*(Reg No.: 250793) conferred by the University of Central Lancashire in UK, and could obtain a Bachelor’s Degree offered by the University in 15 months

Teaching Facilities 

Engineering & Construction Laboratory

The Engineering & Construction Laboratory is available for engineering and construction students to conduct a variety of experiments and tests. It provides equipment for material testing, structural analysis, energy efficiency evaluation, and more. Students can explore new construction design methods and concepts using different materials and technologies, and evaluate the feasibility and performance.

Entry Requirements
  • Applicants should be holders of Ordinary Certificate or Diploma in Building related disciplines; or
  • Mature entrants aged 23 or above and have relevant working experience,
  • Holders of Higher Certificate in Building-related disciplines; or Advanced Course for Clerks of Works or Mature Entrants Course for Clerks of Works; or equivalent may apply for admission into Year 2.

Total $45,000 (in 6 installments)

HKCT Alumni Fee Reduction*

  • HKCT former student who has completed a one year programme or above is eligible.
  • 5% of total tuition fee reduction (max $1,000) will be made in the last instalment of tuition fee payment.

*In the event of any dispute, the decision of HKCT shall be final.
